In this project my main role was aid in the design of and subsequently create which show cased the portfolio & capabilities of the company. I primarily used a combination of Jquery & drupal to create a site that uses dynamic content (providing news, standard content, galleries and more) but also allows for a lot of eye candy. If were to only look at one item from my portfolio this would be the one I would recommend.

Memorial University President’s Report 2009

web_pr_2009

The theme of this site is based on the idea of a cluttered desk containing items that refer to the different sections of the report.

Although it would seem that the look of the site was it’s primary focus. In reality the focus is on managing the large amount of content that the site contains. This is achieved by using ajax to dynamically pull in the content as it is needed when a user clicks on a link.

Island Farrier

web_island_farrier

While the owner of this website works with horses and agriculture on regular basis, she wanted a decidedly nonagricultural look for her website.

Instead we opted to create a look for her website which was themed on the fire that is such a big part of her profession.

Sci-fi on the Rock is an annual science fiction and fantasy convention. Keeping that in mind the design for this site was based with science fiction interfaces in mind.

In addition to the design, the back end functionality had to be created in such a way that it could be easily updated by the volunteers that maintain the websites content.

The purpose of this site was to be a companion piece to the Memorial Univeristy 2009 research report entitled “This is the start of something big”.

To create the menu a customized version of tilt-viewer was used which then led the viewer to a full screen flash presentation. The flash presentation and the menu scaled to the size of the viewers browser window to accomodate foe different screen resolutions.

Memorial University – Undergraduate Recuitment Site “become”

become

The “Become a student” site for Memorial University presented an interesting challenge how to incorporate 50 1 minute videos into a web site without overwhelming the user and without creating a site that would be next to impossible to maintain. The solution lay in creating 6 subsections which then used javascript to determine the content based the web address.
